RAILCORP says it is committed to making announcements on trains more audible as it faces legal action for discriminating against vision-impaired commuters.
The action comes after Mr Innes lodged more than 40 complaints about inaudible announcements on trains.
Mr Innes says vision-impaired people rely on the announcements because they can’t read information displayed on boards.
On Friday, Mr Innes said mediation with RailCorp on the issue had failed and he would now take the matter to court.
In a statement, Mr Innes’ lawyers said they would argue the failure of RailCorp to provide audible announcements was a breach of federal disability discrimination law.
