Don Palmer

Don presents PIAC’s Media Skills training along with Lynette Simons.

Don Palmer ThL, MA, has worked as presenter, anchor and interviewer for a range of media networks as well as directing and producing more than thirty documentaries. He has worked on programs for the ABC, the Nine Network the Seven Network, SBS and the BBC. He was winner of a United Nations Media Peace Prize for documentary.

For five years he lectured in television, print journalism and public relations at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst and helped train some of Australia’s foremost journalists and presenters. His involvement with social justice issues runs deep and includes being co-founder of the Jimmy Little Foundation.

He currently heads up the not-for-profit Malpa organisation [www.malpa.org.au] which supports Aboriginal people to develop their own solutions to the health problems they face. He is a member of the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission advisory board and is a past member of the ABC Advisory Board. Don is a Winston Churchill Fellow and has a Master of Arts in Mass Communications.
