Vavaa Mawuli is a Senior Solicitor at PIAC. Her work involves prisoners’ rights, racial discrimination, access to information and advocating for the rights of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the criminal justice system. Vavaa is currently working on a class action against the NSW Government over the false imprisonment of children. 

Prior to joining PIAC, Vavaa worked for over four years as a criminal defence lawyer in Aboriginal Legal Services in Redfern, Blacktown and the Northern Territory.
