Professor Merrilyn Walton has been a member of the PIAC Board since December 2001.

Merrilyn is Professor of Medical Education, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney. She is a leading patient-safety academic and works nationally and internationally in the field.

Merrilyn was the founding Commissioner for the NSW Health Care Commission. For 15 years she was responsible for administering the Health Care Complaints Act 1993 (NSW).
