Abstract
In this submission, PIAC criticises the NSW Government’s extension of “emergency” police powers, initially enacted because of terrorism, to non-terrorism related policing of “organised crime” and bikies. PIAC is also critical of the fact that, while terrorism-related police powers are the subject of scrutiny by the Ombudsman, non-terrorism related powers are not.
