Abstract

A Feed-in Tariff has the potential to reduce carbon emissions and reduce the need for costly network augmentation. However, if not administered correctly, the scheme can lead to higher energy costs for low-income households.PIAC’s submission to the NSW Feed-in Tariff Scheme consultations calls for the scheme to directly address the energy affordability concerns rising from the scheme. PIAC supports a socially progressive Feed-in Tariff subsidy as being in the interests of low-income and other households.
