Speaking up for different voices
In response to the Electoral Reform Green Paper of 2009, PIAC made a submission to the Federal Government arguing that reform of Australian electoral law was long overdue.
PIAC outlined how democracy benefits from having diverse views represented in parliaments, public debates and campaigns, and that through the presence of different voices new agendas can be developed, vested interests can be challenged and governments can be held to account.
