The Mental Health in Prisons Network consists of organisations, individuals and consumers concerned about the overrepresentation of people in Australian prisons of people with a mental illness, issues about access to mental health services in prisons and the quality of health services provided to prisoners with a mental illness.

The Network meets to discuss these issues and is involved in campaigns to bring about the reduction of people with mental illness in correctional settings and improvements in the delivery of services to those in prisons, including forensic patients, who have a mental illness.
