This submission responds to the NSW Sentencing Council’s request for submissions on its review of the sentencing procedure for alcohol-related violent crime.

Homeless people have a high incidence of drug, alcohol and mental health problems. Because they live in public spaces they are also vulnerable to crimes of violence inflicted by intoxicated people.
