The Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) is an independent, non-profit law and policy organisation that works for a fair, just and democratic society, empowering citizens, consumers and communities by taking strategic action on public interest issues.

PIAC Strategies

The Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) works on public interest issues through a combination of litigation, policy and research, training, and by engaging with the community.

Who funds PIAC?

Financial support for the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) comes primarily from the NSW Public Purpose Fund and the Commonwealth/State Community Legal Services Program.

PIAC Directors

The Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) Board of Directors represents community organisations, the private legal profession, the Law and Justice Foundation and Legal Aid NSW.

PIAC Staff

The Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) has a staff of more than 30, as well as professional placements, secondees and interns who all make a valuable contribution.
